Dolly, the Golden Retriever behind Pooch Pal

Why we built this

Meet Dolly.

Pooch Pal started with a Golden Retriever named Dolly and a phone full of apps that each did one small thing badly. One for walks, one for vet records, a folder of vaccination photos, and a group chat for the park crew.

None of them treated a dog like what she actually is: family. So we built the app we wished existed. One place for her health, her walks, her people and her community, designed around care instead of follower counts.

We're building it in Melbourne, testing every feature on Dolly first. She is a very good girl and a surprisingly tough product critic.

Is Pooch Pal free?

Yes. The Pup tier is free and stays free, and it covers the essentials: the community feed, walk tracking, parks, meetups and the Lost Dog Network. Paid tiers add deeper care tools like document storage, AI walk analysis and higher Dr Paws limits.

Is Dr Paws a real vet?

No. Dr Paws is an AI assistant trained to help with everyday questions about your dog's health, food and behaviour. It's a first opinion, not a diagnosis, and it will always tell you when something needs a real veterinarian. In an emergency, contact your vet immediately.

Where does Pooch Pal work?

Pooch Pal is built for Australia, starting with Melbourne, where we've already mapped 214 dog-friendly parks. The app works anywhere, but the community, parks and services will be richest in Melbourne during the beta.

Will it be on iPhone and Android?

Yes, both. Pooch Pal launches on the App Store and Google Play at the same time.

What about my privacy?

Your data belongs to you and your dog. We comply with the Australian Privacy Act 1988, we don't sell your data, and features that share your location (like park check-ins) are opt-in and always under your control. You must be 16 or older to use Pooch Pal, in line with the Online Safety Amendment Act 2024.

What's the Pooch Pal Tag?

A breed-matched, anodised aluminium tag for your dog's collar. If your dog is ever found, a quick scan links straight to their profile and your contact details. Early waitlist members will be first in line for the free launch batch.
